For a lot of clients, proximity to the airport is top of their criteria. Some people want a hassle free and quick journey to their resort to maximise ski time – and we certainly don’t blame them! Whether you’re driving after your flight, catching the train, or perhaps even wanting a heli-transfer, we have several resorts you can reach in no time at all. Here are our top three resorts with minimal travel time in each country.
Villars, Switzerland

To reach Villars, flying into either Geneva or Sion is your best bet. Geneva tends to be more popular due to the higher number of flights both departing and arriving. Driving from Geneva takes as little as 1 hour and 20 minutes, and driving from Sion takes an hour.
However, if you’re planning on travelling onwards by train, Geneva is the best airport to leave from. A good journey to take is Geneva to Aigle (with a duration of approximately 1 hour 20 minutes). From Aigle, a mountain transfer train will take you to the centre of Villars in just under 30 minutes! Although the car may take less time, sometimes the train can be more enjoyable due to the exquisite, snowy sights seen along the ride.
Once you’ve reached the resort, prepare to be welcomed with an abundance of sunlight. Situated on a plateau 1300m high, Villars benefits from south facing slopes, ensuring total sunlight. Villars was initially a farming village until tourism became popular in 1856 and since then, it has continued to develop into the popular resort it is today. Known for many prestigious international schools, high-end restaurants and challenging slopes, Villars is the resort that has it all. Thriving in both summer and winter thanks to the terrific 225km of ski terrain and countless summer sports and festivals, the short travel time comes in handy!
We currently have a fantastic stock in Villars, with many high-end apartments and chalets with a range of prices. With a prestigious location in the Domaine de la Residence part of Villars, we have a charming duplex apartment - Olympiades I3. This property features 2 bedrooms, an equipped kitchen, both a terrace and balcony and a cosy fireplace at a price of CHF 660,000.
If you’re after a chalet, Chalet Paradou is a remarkable 5-bed chalet set across three floors. Created with high-end materials and stunning interiors, Paradou boasts a large garden and has a selling price of CHF 1,790,000.
Megeve, France

Fortunately, there are quite a few ways to get to Megeve from various airports including Geneva, Lyon and Chambery. Geneva, however, is once again the most convenient airport as it is the closest to the resort and just an hour's drive away.
If the train is more your style, the journey is also an easy one. It takes 1 hour and 20 minutes from Geneva Airport to Sallanches, and then a 20-minute bus or taxi from here to the resort.
For those wanting to continue the journey in the sky, a 15-minute helicopter ride can have you in Megeve from Geneva in style and comfort.
Due to the high level of admiration for the village, it comes as no surprise that the journey to Megeve has been made highly accessible. Globally known as one of the more up-market and magical ski resorts, Megeve radiates a traditional Savoyard feel with its stunning architecture and cobbled streets with horse-drawn carriages. Whether you’re in Megeve to appreciate its history, Michelin star restaurants, exclusive boutiques or 325km of slopes, Megeve appeals to all. Sharing exquisite and close views of Mont Blanc with Chamonix, the scenery is utterly spectacular.
Rosaline is a beautiful 4-bed chalet situated in a tranquil part of the resort just a 3-minute drive from the centre. The chalet has been built with local stone and wood and it enjoys sunny, south facing views. Rosaline is a quintessential French chalet and has a price of EUR 2,850,000.
For a more modern development, Chalets Kristal are two newly built chalets offering spa facilities, a swimming pool, home cinema and fully equipped kitchens with designer appliances.
Kitzbuhel, Austria

Similarly to Megeve, Kitzbuhel offers several quick journeys to reach the resort centre. Innsbruck, Salzburg and Munich airport are easily accessible from the resort. Innsbruck and Salzburg are noticeably quicker with just a one-hour drive from Innsbruck and just a one hour, 30-minute drive from Salzburg.
The train doesn’t differ too much in travel time and offers extremely scenic views en-route. The best journey is a 45-minute train from either Innsbruck or Salzburg heading to Worgl, and then a 30-minute train direct to Kitzbuhel.
Again, a heli-transfer is possible in just 30 minutes from either Munich or Innsbruck for those wanting high-end travel and prestige.
The easy access to the town is of high importance as Kitzbuhel often has top international athletes visiting the ski resort. Home to the Hahnenkamm Race, one of the most famous parts of the Ski World Cup, the town sees a lot of tourism.
Kitzbhuhel is also a dual season resort offering ample to do in both summer and winter. The iconic ski area featuring the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier has a long ski season lasting from October until May! Even without the skiing, the town is bursting with rich history and culture and offers luxury shopping, high-end restaurants and an endless list of sporting activities.
We have plenty of luxury chalets and apartments in Kitzbuhel and the surrounding villages, and even some with exceptionally rare second home status. Green Oasis is a large 3-bed chalet set on a plot of 245m² with impressive views of the Wilder Kaiser. This exceptional chalet has second home status.
Another extraordinary property is Mitterhorn. This charming 3-bed chalet boasts a spacious plot of 1186m² and is situated in a serene part of the village ensuring privacy and peace.
